Preset manager is provided by the elare plugin framework. It provides more value in some plugins than others – in ExifMeta: not much value – sufficient for most users to just use the default "un-named" preset.

But, one possible use for a named preset in exifmeta would be to have one preset that uses one version of exiftool, and another preset that uses another version of exiftool… - for testing/evaluation purposes...

Another use would be to have a different preset for a small monitor (different setting for ‘Number of metadata item rows’)…

i.e. allows different settings to be accessed under a single preset name – similar to export presets, except its for plugins that don’t export.

*** Note: There was a bug for a while that kept this stuff from working as advertised - should be OK now (@v3.8.1).
