Hi there,

I wanted to make a smart collection in LR3 of all my macro shots. I use the same lens for macro and portrait, so I can't just make a smart collection based on that. What I needed is a way to get to the focal length data, which this plug-in does marvelously! Unfortunately, when I go to make the smart collection, I think it sees the values "Focus Distance Upper" and "Focus Distance Lower" as strings like "0.34 m", rather than floats like 0.34. This leads to the problem that I can't set ranges, like make a folder where the "Focus Distance Lower" is between 0.33 and 1.0. Is there a way to strip of the "m" and have LR interpret it as a float (or a double) so that it gives me the range option in the smart collection setting?

Thanks,
Josh

Hi Josh,

Sorry - this is a limitation of Lightroom - FWIW, it's my #1 priority for the plugin SDK, which has not yet been released for Lr4 - fingers crossed.
